CERN Accelerating science

Contact

Every year CERN welcomes visits by artists, dancers, writers, musicians and designers keen to learn about our work and the people behind the science as well as the workings of this great international science laboratory.

You can discover more about CERN science by exploring the main website, downloading images (with copyright restrictions). Or make your own visit in person to CERN to see our free exhibitions open to members of the public at the Globe of Science and Innovation, Microcosm and the ATLAS visitor centre.

In exceptional circumstances, and subject to availability, Arts@CERN will facilitate one day visits for specific artists and arts projects. In the spirit of exchange, we will ask you to give us a seminar on your work and share with the CERN community the excitement of your artistic discovery. Please note that we are only able to facilitate up to 6 independently requested artists’ visits per year. These visits are usually for 1 day maximum and subject to availability. We require at least 6 weeks’ advance notice.  Please fill in artists' visits.

Finally, CERN can not give funding for the arts because our public funding is solely for particle physics, engineering and technology. Our funding for Collide@CERN Artists Residency scheme is thanks to external sponsorship and donors.

On very rare occasions, the CERN Cultural Board officially selects an external partnership or collaboration request from innovative artists and arts organisation to work with Arts@CERN.

The first  official Arts@CERN collaboration is with SYMMETRY - an international transmediale visual opera-dance-science-digital arts project. It is the first official collaboration selected for 2012, in production 2013, and in post production 2014. Read more....

Thank you for your interest in Arts@CERN. For further correspondence our address is Arts@CERN, Batiment 3, R 008, CERN  1201 Geneva 23, Switzerland.
