Conversation and screening of Black Hole Museum + Body Browser: SU Wen-Chi and Diego Blas

Transforming and translating a VR work into an online screening setting, Thank You Movie God is an online programme by SU Wen-Chi exploring the theatricality and cinematic variations between 3D and 2D filmmaking and coding. The event includes the online screening of the VR Experience Black Hole Museum + Body Browser, which explores how to imagine and perceive gravity through the movement of dance, sound and light. The project and Wen-Chi's interest in gravity came about during her residency at CERN in 2016. During her time at the Laboratory, she met theoretical physicist Diego Blas, whose main research areas are theoretical cosmology, gravitational physics and tests of physics beyond the standard model with astrophysical probes.

Combining an immersive virtual reality environment with a full-sphere surround sound system, SU Wen-Chi's Black Hole Museum + Body Browser explores the relationships between body, dance, and gravity and the aspects of performing in a VR spacetime. The screenings will be accompanied by talks featuring the artist and her collaborators, including Diego Blas.
