The University of Bogota Jorge Tadeo Lozano, within the framework of the Cátedra en Diseño, Arte y Ciencia, will host a panel discussion on projects that build bridges between design, art and science, with the participation of curator and head of Arts at CERN Mónica Bello.

The Cátedra en Diseño, Arte y Ciencia–the first of its kind in Latin America–seeks to generate dialogues, reflections and new lines of research around topics such as biocreation, biomimicry, wearable technology, the Internet of things, smart cities, automation and mixed realities.

 

In this panel discussion, curator and head of Arts at CERN Mónica Bello; Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering of Utadeo Isaac Duner, Silvia Laurentiz, University of Sao Paulo, will introduce initiatives related to energy and creation, physics and art, and artificial intelligence informing creative processes. Bello will share how artists across all creative disciplines are welcome to CERN to experience how the big questions about our universe are pursued by fundamental science. A Q&A session will follow the presentations.

 

The Cátedra en Diseño, Arte y Ciencia is an interdisciplinary initiative by University of Bogotá́ Jorge Tadeo Lozano (Colombia), in partnership with the Master in Design Interactive of the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina), the Magister in Media Arts of the University of Chile (Chile), and the Red Media Lab / Brazil (the Federal University of Goiás, University of Brasília, Universidade Federal do Sul e Sudeste do Pará, Universidade Anhembi-Morumbi and Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas).
